The Cookout
When I am at home my favorite dish to eat is Barbecue Ribs. The thick juicy taste of them hits my mouth with tons of flavor. My uncle makes them the best. He seasons the ribs first, and then lets them marinate in this special flavoring to make them taste fantastic. After they marinate for about 10 minutes he takes them out of the bowl, and puts them on the grill, which in my opinion is a very delicate process. The ribs must be cooked thoroughly, but not burnt. When he is finish with the ribs he takes out the secret barbecue sauce, and drizzle it over the ribs. This gives them that tangy taste. The ribs show my culture because in my family we have cookouts, and the cookouts are for the family to sit down and have a good time. We mostly have them on holidays so that our family members from out of town can come and enjoy it too. The routine that is most common for us is to have different people bring side dishes and the meat or main course will be cooked fresh off the grill. While the meat is cooking we all love to dance and tell jokes. I have upgraded to “The Back” just a couple years ago. The Back is where the adults have conversation and drink, because all the children play in the front drive way and yard. I didn't get to drink anything until this year, which was only a small sip but it made me feel included. When the meat is finish we all sit down and have a great feast. We laugh, we laugh, and we laugh some more.
